Memorial Day 2001

There were 16 trees that fell on the island over the winter.

And once again our guardian angels pushed them away from

the camps!  This year, the ice house, Dad's shed and the

swimming pool were spared....but just barely!

David had done a lot of the cutting up of the trees all thru the
winter, making the clean up job much easier for the rest of us,
        BIG Thank you to David!!!

Everyone got involved in the cleaning up, opening up of the island....from Bill raking, Peg cleaning the windows, Andrea in the kitchen, Ann sweeping the roof, Daddy cleaning the gutters....and many happy lumberjacks

Peter worked hard on the weekend (although when he was chainsawing, he had a lot of supervisors). We kept the fire going in the pit by Dad's to help get rid of a lot of the brush from the fallen trees. We made great progress, but still lots of burning to go!! Peter's friend Chris was helping for the weekend also... we worked him kinda hard, he may not be back!
